How to Change STC WIFI Password Modem, Router, MyFi
Learn how to change the STC wifi password of the modem in all models. I will show you the quick and easiest way to change or reset an STC modem or device if you have forgotten it. Now there are two different situations, and I don’t know which one are you facing.
The first thing is you have bought a new STC modem or device and want to set a security key. And the other situation is that you have forgotten your current modem password and want to recover it.
But don’t worry I will show you both methods, and you can follow the one you are having trouble with. The 1st method is how to know your default username password and change it. The 2nd method is how to reset any modem password provided by STC. So keep on reading to the end of the post.
How to Know & Change STC Default WiFi Password
Currently, there are a total of 8 modems by STC. To change the default username and password, connect the modem/router/MyFi device with PC or laptop > go to 192.168.100.1 using any web browser > Enter the desired SSID and password (mentioned below for all STC modems/routers/MyFi) > Device info > Wireless Settings > Enter new SSID and new pre-shared key > Click on Submit button. That is it.
- DSL Modem – HG658b default Username is admin and the password is admin
- FTTH Modem – HG8245Q default Username is telecomadmin, and password is admintelecom
- DSL Modem – HG658v2 the default Username is admin, and the password is admin
- HG658v2 VDSL 102 V2 Modem the default Username is telecomadmin, and the password is admintelecom
- E5577 MBB MyFi the default Username and password is admin
- G – 240W ONT default Username and password is admin
- I – 240W – A ONT 2.4GHz the default Username and password is admin
- HG8245T, the default username and password is admin
STC provided a complete guide (Link) for how you can know or see the default password and SSID for all of the above-mentioned routers and modems. You can just get there (above link) and click the modem/Wifi/router you have. Then you will see the default password and username for your desired router/modem/MyFi.
How to Reset & Change STC WiFi Password
No matter which of the STC router/WiFi/MyFi/Modems you are using. But there is a small thing button located on the left/right side or the backside of all STC modems and other devices. To reset, the username and password to the default ones just tap and hold the button for 10 seconds and then release it.
Now you can enter the default SSID and password for your desired router/modem or wifi device (all mentioned above). Then follow the below-mentioned steps.
Just connect any of your modem/router/MyFi devices with PC or laptop > then go to 192.168.100.1 using any web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge) > Enter the desired SSID and password (mentioned above for all STC modems/routers/MyFi) > then go to Device info > Wireless Settings > Enter your new SSID and new pre-shared key > and click on the Submit button. That is it.
