How to Change STC WiFi Password Router/Modem

Learn how to change the STC wifi password of the modem in all models. I will show you the quick and easiest way to change or reset an STC modem or device if you have forgotten it. Now there are two different situations, and I don’t know which one are you facing.

The first thing is if you have bought a new STC modem or device and want to set a security key. The other situation is that you have forgotten your current modem password and want to recover it.

But don’t worry I will show you both methods, and you can follow the one you are having trouble with. The 1st method is how to know your default username and password and change it. The 2nd method is how to reset any modem password provided by STC. So keep on reading to the end of the post.

How to Know & Change STC Default WiFi Password

Currently, there are a total of 8 STC routers and WiFi devices. To change the default username and password, connect the modem, router, or MyFi device to a PC or laptop. Then follow these steps:

Go to  192.168.100.1 using a web browser. Now enter the default SSID and password. Click Device info, Wireless Settings, and Enter the new SSID and new pre-shared key. Click on the Submit button.

All STC routers are different and have different IP addresses, usernames, and passwords. However, if you don’t know the default ones for your router, myfi, and modem, then please have a look at the following list.

STC HG658b – VDSL Modem

  • Login IP Address: http://192.168.1.1
  • Username: admin
  • password: admin

STC HG8245Q Huawei ONT

  • Login IP Address: http://192.168.100.1
  • Username: telecomadmin
  • Password: admintelecom

STC HG658v2 DSL Modem

  • Login IP Address: http://192.168.1.1
  • Username: admin
  • password: admin

STC HG658v2 VDSL 102 V2 Modem

  • Login IP Address: http://192.168.100.1
  • Username: telecomadmin
  • Password: admintelecom

STC E5577 MBB MyFi

  • Login IP Address: http://192.168.8.1
  • Username: admin
  • Password: admin

STC I-240W and G-240W

  • Login IP Address: http://192.168.1.1

STC provided the default password and SSID for all of the routers mentioned above modems. You can just get there (above link) and click the modem/Wifi/router you have. Then you will see the default password and username for your desired router/modem/MyFi.

How to Reset & Change STC WiFi Password

No matter which STC router/WiFi/MyFi/Modems you are using. But there is a small button on the left/right side or the backside of all STC modems and other devices. To reset, the username and password to the default ones just tap and hold the button for 10 seconds and then release it.

Now you can enter the default SSID and password for your desired router/modem or wifi device (all mentioned above). Then follow the below-mentioned steps.

Just connect any of your modem/router/MyFi devices with a PC or laptop > then go to 192.168.100.1 using any web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge) > Enter the desired SSID and password (mentioned above for all STC modems/routers/MyFi) > then go to Device info > Wireless Settings > Enter your new SSID and new pre-shared key > and click on the Submit button. That is it, you have successfully changed your STC WiFi password.

How to Change STC WiFi Password on Mobile

There are a few easy steps you can follow in order to change your 4G or 5G STC WiFi password. Make sure that you are connected to your router or WiFi device, then follow these steps:

  1. Go to http://192.168.1.1.
  2. Now log in with your username and password.
  3. Click Wireless at the top, then Security at the left menu.
  4. Delete the existing key in the box next to PassPhrase.
  5. Enter your new password, and click the Apply button.

Once you click the Apply button, the page will reload and your changes will be saved. Now you can disconnect from your WiFi device. Because you have changed its password. So to connect again with your WiFi, go to your Wifi settings select your network, and enter your new password. You will be connected successfully.
